A Life Changing Experience...

This May, senior students from Tsi Deldel School in the Tsilhqot'in Nation have the exciting opportunity to travel to Mexico, and the great privilege of building a home for a family.  This trip is in partnership with Homes of Hope, an international organization that is responsible for homes being built in many developing nations.  On May 8th, 7 students, 2 staff and 2 parents from the Redstone community will head south for this exciting adventure.

This is an incredible opportunity and will be a life-changing experience for the students, staff and parents who are involved.  Students will build collaborative problem solving skills in a real world setting. They will develop compassion as they become aware of international disparities and social injustices. They will build self-confidence and the knowledge that they are able to make tangible steps to making the world a better place.  It is a wonderful opportunity for our students, but we need your help to make it a reality.

To build a home for a family in Mexico, it will cost just under $7,000 (U.S). This might not seem like much but it is prohibitively expensive for many working families in Mexico. The total cost for flying to Mexico, staying at the base and building the house will cost $13,000 (U.S). Students have been hard at work fundraising and we currently have $3,955 dollars.

There are three ways you can help us raise money for our trip.

  • A donation of a gift for us to use as a Raffle Prize
  • A monetary donation through a cheque addressed to the Tsi Deldel School.
  • By donating through PayPal at the top right hand of this screen.

Please consider partnering with us in this incredible opportunity for our students.
